The blog name:
Inspired by Simon Sinek’s book, Begin with Why, we wanted a name that elicits reflection on the why of business. Inside every one of use, we all have a why to what we do. We all have a reason why we are starting up startups and side hustles, whether it is to to address a challenge we face or or to escape the 9-5 craziness or maybe to leave a legacy behind, we all know our why and want to create a community where we continually focus on our why, our driving force to do what we do.
Startup Community Support:
The exciting thing about being in the startup community is that you’re not alone. There is never a better time to start a startup than today where you have a federal and provincial government that is friendly towards startups encouraging community building and supporting investments with competitive tax rates. Here’s a list of other community groups we recommend you checking out if you are in the startup space:
- BC Innovations Council (BC Government’s community for innovations)
- Futurepreneur (recommended for loans)
- BC Tech (BC’s ‘board of trade’ for the tech sector)
- Founders Canada
- Hackernest (Community for developers)
