There is never a better time to start a startup than here in British Columbia. With a tech friendly government at both the federal and provincial level and good resources, incubators and money to go around, the Tech sector in BC is on its way up. One of the most exciting things to keep an eye out for in the Tech sector is the annual New Ventures competition put on by the BC Innovation Council.
With over 200 companies applying to the BCIC New ventures competition, a little over 160 have been shortlisted for round two of the competition. From FinTECH to EduTECH, FoodTECH, FitnessTECH and more, this competition is showing the diversity of how tech is being applied into the different economic pillars of our society.
YVR Startups will be covering the competition and interviewing a handful of these companies in the weeks to come.
